MIIA is an interdependent pool of members, not a vendor. This member-driven partnership provides unique motivation to create custom-designed risk management programs. MIIA provides our members with all of the tools necessary to manage their risk and reduce insurance claims. Some of our services include the following: Drug and Alcohol TestingIn response to the DOT mandated Drug and Alcohol Testing Requirements MIIA, in conjunction with Custom Drug Testing, we provide a drug testing consortium for MIIA members. Custom Drug Testing services are conducted at the member site and include the full spectrum of required testing.
Playground Safety InspectionCertified Playground Safety Inspectors will inspect your municipal playground on request to determine potential hazards and advise you on effective playground equipment maintenance and design.
InspectionsInspections are conducted by MIIA loss Control consultants on your premises to identify potential loss exposures due to unsafe conditions or work practices.
Property ValuationsMIIA Loss Control staff will conduct valuations on selected municipal properties to ensure that your municipality is adequately covered against property loss.
Safety ConsultingWhether it’s dealing with a specific issue or guidance in setting up a basic loss control safety plan, MIIA Loss control staff will meet with you to help you design programs that specifically meet your risk management needs.
Workstation/Ergonomic EvaluationsMIIA Loss Control staff will conduct onsite inspections (on request) of individual or group workstations to determine the most ergonomic arrangement of office furniture and equipment.
Safety Committee GuidanceOur Loss Control staff believes that a safety committee can be an excellent risk management tool by providing a forum to discuss the safety concerns of the member as well as provide an opportunity for us to communicate loss control issues and programs to our members. Loss Control will participate in these meetings and assist with corrective action follow up.
Onsite TrainingMIIA has a number of training programs that can be brought onsite and customized to our members specific needs.
Regional SeminarsMIIA holds regional seminars, roundtables and conferences that target our municipal audience.
