In keeping with MIIA’s philosophy of providing you with the best municipal loss control services and programs, we are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for our eighth annual Loss Control Grant Program. The Program has been modified to allow grants to be awarded throughout the year (as long as Grant funds last).
Grants of up to $5,000 are awarded for the development of risk management programs and training and the purchase of safety equipment that you have no other means of funding. Eligible programs and items include, but are not limited to:
- Safety equipment
- Development and implementation of a roof inspection program
- Development and implementation of a sewer backup/overflow prevention program
- Confined Space entry training
- Development and implementation of a building maintenance/freeze-up prevention program
- Development and implementation of a self-inspection program
- Hands-on driver training
Preference will be given to those members who have a history of cooperation with MIIA Loss Control Programs. Additional consideration will be given to those members who did not receive a grant in the past. Below is an application packet containing an explanation sheet and application form as well as answers to frequently asked questions regarding the program. Applications will be accepted throughout FY09 (or until Grant funds are exhausted).
Due to fiscal year budgeting requirements, all grant awards must be invoiced or paid by June 15, 2009 or they will be forfeited. There will be no exceptions to this deadline. Invoices or requests for payment after June 15th cannot be paid.
This program will provide you with another tool to increase loss control effectiveness and continue to provide a safe environment for both employees and the public.
