Police Certification-Accreditation Program

MIIA's Police Accreditation/Certification Reimbursement Program is designed to encourage and assist our member police departments with achieving the professional standards set by the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission. These standards help to reduce law enforcement liability scenarios through consistent policy enforcement and training. This program helps to offset the fees associated with meeting these standards. Please see below for instructions on how to obtain reimbursement.

The following is MIIA’s Accreditation/Certification Reimbursement Program

Accreditation/Certification Process

  • 1st year - $625- upon receipt of copy of application for Accreditation/Certification
  • 2nd year - $625- upon receipt of proof of standards completed, submitted and approved by MA Police Accreditation Commission
  • 3rd year - $625- upon receipt of proof of standards completed, submitted and approved by MA Police Accreditation Commission

Accreditation/Certification must be obtained within three years of program application in order to receive continued reimbursement.

After initial Accreditation/Certification- $625 for each year the Department remains accredited or certified.

All reimbursement requests should be accompanied by a copy of the Certificate of Accreditation/Certification or Award Letter from the Commission and forwarded to:
