Course Description: - This course is designed as a training program to inform employers and employees of the best practices in trenching and excavation safety. The participant will learn about the role and responsibility of the employer to assign a “competent person” to the excavation site and provide that person with the knowledge of key excavation hazards. Topics include: understanding and application of definitions related to OSHA’s excavation standard; excavation hazards and control measures; soil analysis techniques; protection system requirements, and emergency response.
