This two-part workshop is designed for school personnel and other individuals responsible for investigating Title IX complaints and requires basic knowledge of the Title IX process under the governing 2020 regulations. It will cover investigation timelines and strategies; strategizing, preparing for, and conducting interviews of parties and witnesses; how to gather evidence; and how to write an Investigation Report, including standard of proof, review of relevant evidence and referral to Decision Maker. The workshop will incorporate interactive exercises or a case study.
This Part One will include the investigator's role in the grievance process, grievance process requirements, the definition of Sexual Harassment, bias and conflicts of interest and investigation preliminaries.
Audience: Asst. Superintendents, Asst. Principals, School Resource Officers, Title IX Coordinators & TeamMembers, Human Resource personnel, School-based Administrators, and anyone else responsible for investigating T.IX complaints.
