Aerial Lift Safety, Operations, & Rescue Techniques - Miust have attended Electrical Hazard Awareness class first

Safe operations of hydraulic lift systems will be explained and evaluated. Positioning of aerial lift in relation
to on-site hazards such as electrical power lines will also be practiced and discussed.
Manufacturers’ recommendations regarding maintenance and safe working load limits will be explained and reinforced.

Required PPE

Participants shall bring their own PPE which meets the following standards. A PPE inspection will be

performed prior to field training beginning, and NATS reserves the right to deny participation in course

programming to any individual who it determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, lacks adequate PPE or

is otherwise unfit to perform a given course task. PPE required for this course is: · Head Protection (ANSI

Z89.1) · Hearing Protection · Eye Protection (ANSI Z87.1) · High Viz Shirt (ANSI / ISEA 107) · Hand

Protection (gloves applicable for the task) · Chainsaw Leg protection (ASTM F1897: look for the UL label) ·

Foot Protection (a sturdy work boot that supports to the ankle or above, or ASTM F2412 & F2413

This course meets the ANSI / ASSE Z490.1 Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as well as OSHA 1910.67,1910.68, & 1910.269, and ANSI Z133, Z359, & A92.

• Electrical contact assessment, step and touch voltage potential, O.C.R.’s (oil circuit reclosers) • Detecting and avoiding obstacles and obstruction
Familiarize yourself with the Actual Unit/Tool
• Owner's manual, safety features
• Safe working loads / rated capacity
Maintenance
• Required routine/daily maintenance, inspection methods,
• Risk assessment and field drift testing
Safe Lift Operations
• Maneuvering and handling
• Electrical awareness
• Reach capacity and working load limits
• Detecting and avoiding obstacles
• Positioning and set-up

Credentials and Deliverables:

All learners who successfully complete all portions of the training program and who submit all applicable paper-work upon course completion shall receive the following:

Certificate of Completion in Training in Aerial Lift Safety, Operations & Rescue Techniques
